For When I'm Not in Camo | Halo Hair Extensions

Regardless of my love for the outdoors, I am a WOMAN and deep down every woman has a desire to feel beautiful! A few months back my bonus mom, who happens to be more "in-the-know” than myself on all beauty products, mentioned Halo hair extensions. I’ve stayed away from extensions because of how much time I spend outdoors, and clips-ins were itchy or uneven. I’ve even tried glue-in extensions way back in my college days! However, I think I’ve found the perfect solution for my outdoor girls that want something easy to remove that doesn’t damage your hair and is the furthest thing from high maintenance: Halo Couture Hair Extensions.

Professional VS At-Home Teeth Whitening | Which one is better?

Professional VS At-Home Teeth Whitening | Which one is better?

In December 2020 I finally did something I’ve been contemplating doing for years. I decided to get my teeth straightened back out, after years without wearing a retainer. I had braces in 4th grade and got them taken off 2.5 years later in 6th grade, but my orthodontist gave me clear retainers rather than a permanent retainer. I wasn’t quite responsible enough to have those, and here I am nearly 20 years later getting them fixed! This time, I decided to go the Invisalign route, rather than braces. I figured with COVID-19 cancelling all of our tradeshows, meaning I wouldn’t be in front of a camera or having important meetings face-to-face, it was time.

Pros & Cons of Invisalign Treatment

Pros & Cons of Invisalign Treatment

I’ve contemplated getting my teeth fixed for years after I noticed them shifting more and more with time. To everyone else, my teeth were already straight, but the slightest movement had created a “less than perfect” alignment, something that I once experienced after wearing braces for 2.5 years. For this reason, it’s been difficult to ignore the change. My teeth are also a sensitive subject because I can remember being made fun of for having “buck teeth” and I even had people close to me say, “she could eat an apple through a fence.” While it was lighthearted, it still hurt!

5 Tips for Creating a Vision Board

5 Tips for Creating a Vision Board

Well it’s January 2021 which means the majority of people are analyzing their life, deciding what they’d like to change, and (hopefully) making steps in the right direction. I know the people at my gym are, based on how challenging it is to get a parking spot before 6am every morning! I’m not mad though, I genuinely hope they'll keep it up. Having an active lifestyle will positively spill over into every area of your life! THAT’S. A. FACT.

What I didn’t Expect from my New Role at Huntin’ Fool

What I didn’t Expect from my New Role at Huntin’ Fool

When I made the decision to take on the role of Marketing & PR Manager at Huntin’ Fool in November 2019, I knew the position would entail a variety of projects. Part of this is due to the fact that it was a new position within the company, but it also came down to the fact that there were multiple areas that needed attention. This sounded challenging to me, which naturally made me want to jump on the offer. While I knew there’d be some adjusting, I couldn’t have predicted the ways that I’d grow in just 12 months, particularly in regards to design. Yes I have a design degree, yes I’ve handled nearly all of the branding for my personal company, but in the 8 years that I’ve been out of school I have done very little design work outside of that. I wanted to document all of the projects I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in up until this point. In 1 year, these have helped me grow as a creative mind, as a team player, and has significantly increased my confidence in this role. These are untouched or “very little experience” areas for me and I can’t wait to see what’s in store over the next year at Huntin’ Fool!

Managing Knee Pain for Hunting in the Mountains

Managing Knee Pain for Hunting in the Mountains

Ever since I ran a half marathon in the Spring of 2016, my knees have never been the same. I still have a desire to run another one at some point, but my main priority is getting to a place where it’s not painful being in the mountains chasing elk for a week. I dream of that day! At the end of my 2018 elk season, after 21 grueling days in the wilderness of Colorado, the pain was so bad that I went and had MRI’s done on both knees upon my return to normal life. Thankfully the results from the doc were, “extreme inflammation with possible minor tears.” At this point it hurt to go up or down stairs, and the worst was sitting down to use the restroom. My knees were certainly better during the 2019 elk season, but then my achilles tendons were inflamed. It’s tough to choose which one I’d rather deal with on the mountain because they both suck.

But Did You Die? // Facing My Biggest Fear in Life

But Did You Die? // Facing My Biggest Fear in Life

It never fails - every time I do something that scares the heck out of me, I’m a better version of myself. I don’t mean in a week, or month, or 5 years. I mean right then. People chase instant gratification every single day, and while most things take time to see the results, facing fears is one of the few things that will light up your world immediately.

Next Chapter: Utah

For years I’ve said that working for myself was the best decision I ever made. It allows me freedom in multiple areas of life and it’s extremely empowering to hustle for yourself. Up until last year I was still preaching that same message. However, I started to see a shift in my desire to keep being a “social media influencer” full time. I’ve made a decent living off of social media marketing alone, but there were just some things missing in my life and I had to be honest with myself.

Boho Living and Loving // 6 Month Update

Boho Living and Loving // 6 Month Update

I’ve noticed a lot of hype around simplified living lately: travel trailers, tiny homes, van living, etc. With that being said, I’ve had a handful of people ask me if I still like living in a trailer, to which I would immediately correct them and say, “I don’t like it. I LOVE IT!!” Below are a few thoughts that immediately come to mind when someone asks what makes me love it so much:

Good Marketing Always Wins.

Good Marketing Always Wins.

I still remember it like it was yesterday. Walking across that stage was an incredibly gratifying moment; partly because I successfully made it across without falling on my face while wearing 6” turquoise heels (literally the tallest I’ve ever tried on), but mainly because I had switched majors multiple times and still finished in 4.5 years. Many summer classes, all nighters, and full breakdowns later (picture lots of ugly crying), I was handed a diploma with a B.S. in Visualization from Texas A&M. That was a little over 6 years ago now.

An Adventurer's Heart

An Adventurer's Heart

Ever since Braxton lost his dream job we’ve been putting the pieces back together. It wasn’t just about getting another job, that part was easy; he had offers coming from all over, including another ranch manager position that he accepted then quickly realized wasn’t right for us. When you’re a ranch manager, they provide a home and cover the bills, and often times give you a ranch truck and insurance. It’s a sweet deal unless things change - then you’re not just looking for a job. It was finding a new home and deciding where we wanted to live. More specifically, HOW did we want to live.
